Sean Carter

A talented musician, both a guitarist and drummer with touring experience and performance qualification. In his school days, Sean won the Junior Young Musician of the Year, Young Musician of the Year, and achieved a Grade 8 drum exam (Merit) in his final year.

Further educated at New College, Swindon, Sean completed his Music Technology course and took additional tuition at Swindon Music Service, moving into a teaching role and since October 2010 has been an approved teacher with Swindon Borough Council. He has much experience teaching in primary and secondary schools and has supplied private drum, guitar and bass tuition to numerous students.

Sean has successfully built on his Grade 8 drums to achieve a Level 4 Performance Diploma (DipRSL) and in addition to being a working drummer, he also tours as a guitarist in a band called ‘The Cold Harbour’. Such tours are are on-going, and since 2010 have included Poland Germany, Belgium, Sweden and Austria.

What can we do for you?

Working with both newestablished drummers and guitarists, we can help develop technical skill, readingdrum notation, stylistic understanding, live performance and overall playing confidence.

To achieve this, we use our own syllabus together with and a large library of audio & written resources. We also provide a recording and videoing service, which students can use for audition, promotion or portfolio use.

If you seek formal qualifications we enter our candidates for drum grades 1-8 with Rockschool Ltd. (

Our teaching is predominantly school based (various schools) with additional priviate tuition at St Johns in Marborough. Sessions can be one-to-one, paired or groups. Larger ensemble group workshops for drums, guitar and bass can be tailoured on request up to one day in duration.
